What is Gimme The Gist?
Gimme The Gist is a site that gives you the gist of things.
I cover most topics in about 300–400 words. Long enough to get the basic idea—or the gist of it, if you will—but not so long that it gets too detailed and technical. I try to keep things light and often humorous.
At the end of each post, I always link to a few sources where you can find more information about the topic.
That’s the gist of it.
What topics do you write about?
Pretty much anything, from “how does this work” to “why is this so.” I usually pick things that are weird or counterintuitive.
To keep things organized and simple, Gimme The Gist has four main categories:
Nature: Anything that has to do with the natural world: oceans, space, mountain ranges, the animal kingdom.
Science: Facts and discoveries from any science field, be it psychology, physics, or chemistry.
Society: Things that happen (or have happened) in our society. Politics, celebrity news, history, and so on.
Technology: All about man-made stuff, from computers to robots to weird gadgets and even curious trinkets. You know, technology.
Who are you?
I’m Daniel. I write stuff.
I also have a personal humor blog: Nest-Expressed.com.
